Ibstock plc is a leading manufacturer of clay bricks and concrete products with operations in the UK and the United States. It employs over 2400 people, with 49 clay, concrete and speciality manufacturing plants. 

ILM L5 Leadership and Management Development Programme has been delivered across the middle and senior management level of Ibstock Building Products for the past four years. Integral to the leadership development strategy, this programme encompasses a change management project which provides a return on investment to the business.

OBJECTIVE

To develop a consistent leadership approach and build competence and confidence at the middle and senior management level.

To provide a quality assured accredited development opportunity for individuals reinforcing commitment from the company to their personal and professional development.

METHODOLOGY

Through nine tailored, face-to-face workshops supported with one-to-one trainer support, the development programmes ran over a four month period. Self-assessment, group exercises and a business change project were all included in this modular programme. Core subjects were:

• Practical Delegation and Empowerment

• Coaching and Mentoring Skills

• Managing Information to Improve our Performance (CSF and KPIs)
