Pixie Dust II is about leading change and the challenges change presents. It is a tale of a community having to face a change for its very survival. The change concepts behind the book and the storyline are based upon examples of leadership, both outstanding and poor, that Dr Howard G Awbery has observed throughout his colourful career.
Pixie Dust II sets out to address the following question. How can Leaders ensure that the change that is occurring is the change that they need?

He further suggests that the meaning to each employee of what they hear is unique and coloured by their backgrounds, their experience and their current situation. Dr Andy Bibby has concluded that change communication exercises are fraught with cognition issues i.e. where the hearer genuinely misinterprets the message. On the other hand, mature employees view with cynicism new managers who flirt with management fads and frolic with yet another new concept to solve all their team problems. He suggests it is not surprising then that either disbelieving employees or those suffering from change fatigue might sabotage proposed changes. He calls this deviance: employees subverting the meaning of the message to fulfil their own ends.
Dr Andy Bibby’s research has generated a number of new and valuable strategic approaches to change that will raise a leaders’ effectiveness when addressing the thorny issue of change.
